because first of all i can't wear foundation all the time, esp. in the morning (tacky for me) and if i use foundation i look like dead and have to use eye makeup and blush and maskara. i like esp. in summer to keep things very natural.

I definitely would suggest that you use a tinted moisturizer. My favourite is Stila's tinted moisturizer (found at Sephora stores). It is super natural, good for your skin since it really is just a moisturizer with a little bit of colour, it contains SPF 15, and it covers unwanted redness. My skin has redness, too, along with acne scarring and tinted moisturizer covers it right up, but it doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup!
If you don't know how to apply tinted moisturizer:
-I like to use a foundation brush. There is a great one by CARGO (also found at Sephora stores) but you can look for a cheaper one at drug stores or look at the Sephora line, which has fairly high quality products but are cheaper.
-Squeeze some tinted moisturizer on the brush and brush onto the red parts of your skin that you would like to cover. You can put on as much or as little as you would like.
-Make sure to clean the brush as often as possible so that too much bacteria does not build up.
You will love tinted moisturizer!
Go to e.l.f. and gind their all over color stick. Its only for a dollar.
you should try the bare issentials make-up. its foundation in a powder form, and its all natural. you can use a little or build it up to full coverage.

Try to get 1/2hr of rays around midday,early afternoon a few times a week.Use sunscreen or a tanning lotion to prevent sunburn.It will give you a natural glow
You might want to see a dermatologist or esthetician because it sounds like you might have rosacea. If a good esthetician seems expensive try beauty schools in your area they can help you find the best type of makeup and colour matches as well as help you with the red patches.

loreal mineral powder. it is amazing, and works the same as bare minerals. you can find it at any drug store, and its really cheap
The reason you look dead might be because you're choosing the wrong color of foundation. Mineral makeup is really natural looking. Just don't buy drugstore brands with filler, and do figure out your correct undertones. There are so many mineral makeup companies that there is sure to be your correct skin tone and it will make you look awake :)

i would reccomednd loreal ideal balence. i tadapts to suit each part of your face so it wont make the dry areas look flacky and patchy and wont make the oilyness look greasy unlike many other foundations. it totally evens out your skin and makes it look amazing. i would definately reccomend it. it also lasts through a whole day witch is great.
to apply, first exfoliate to get rid of any dry or flaky skin. if you are going to be doing this every day get a super gentle one like liz earle as not to damage your skin.
allow your moisturizer to dry and absorb before applying your make-up, this may take a few minutes.
always use a non-mineral, oil-based moisturizer that will not clog pores. if your moisturizer does not absorb into your skin, neither will your mineral makeup.
use a setting powder as a base on oily skin...it will help absorb the oil naturally.
using special enhancers such as ';polished'; will refract light and make your dark under-eye cirles disappear. also use in the corner of eyes, mouth, etc. to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
mineral make-up should be applied in light layers. if you feel you need more coverage, keep applying light layers.
also you could try using a deep moisturising cream before applying make-up on the dry areas, something like elizibeth ardens eight hour moisturising cream. good luck.

And on top use a little and i mean little bronzer.and some blush but dont use it in circles on ur cheeks cuz it makes it look childish. do you use moisturizer daily? start using Cetaphil face wash and moisturizer! that will definitely help with the dry spots. and with the orange spots... are you using a right foundation color? you may need to go a lot lighter.
test foundation on your jawline then take a mirror outside to see if its the right shade. don't be embarrassed to do so. its your face, so put your best one forward :D

I've tried a lot of different foundations like mac, revlon and now max factor long lasting which I like the best. Yet still I get streaky foundation and dark and lighter patches on my face which looks unnatural. Any tips or tricks?How to get perfect foundation? no streaks and patches?
my mom had the same problem until i gave her an elf foundation brush. it's a US$1.oo. It's thinner than most foundation brushes so it can maneuver in to those smaller areas like the inner corners of your eyes. The elf counter girl calls it their foundation and concealer brush (even if elf has a separate and different concealer brush) because it's that tapered and the thinnest foundation brush i've seen.
i prefer that brush than sponges or my fingers. sponges are a waste of foundation and fingers, well you get the streaks.

I like Physician's Formula brand makeup (Mineral Wear is the name of it). Other brands, such as Revlon, have mineral makeup too. This way, the minerals don't clog your pores, they can't blotch or streak your face, and it feels weightless, where as liquid foundation or other pressed compacts feel like you have makeup caked on. I would recommend getting a shade as close to your skin tone as possible; however, if you can't, I would go one shade lighter, because darker makeup is unnatural. Mineral Makeup could be pricy; however, it's worth it.
I use a cream/mousse foundation that is the same as my skin tone, possibly even a little darker. then, to make it go evenly onto your skin, i use an ultra sheer lotion and blend it with the foundation in my palm until the desired tint of foundation is reached. then put it on evenly the same way you put on lotion
because it is diluted you will not be able to notice blotchiness on your face from areas of thick foundation

For about a year now, my skin is developing very dark brown patches. I was diagnosed by a dermatologist with something, that i honestly forgot the name of. ( i need to use sunblock from now on.)
Anyway, they are getting darker and my regular foundation which is Remmell, which i love is no longer fully covering these patches.

It is pricier than drugstore brands but it is well worth it. First use concealer, let it settle for about 10 seconds. Then use CoverGirl Clean Makeup Foundation. It works wonders. It literally makes my skin glow. I have a brown spot on my left cheek and it's barely noticeable.

Have really red cheeks that thankfully are not due to rosacea but are still kind of unflattering, as well as very dark circles (lack of sleep, pleasures of being a parent!). What I'm looking for is something that will cover well but not look cakey. I'm hoping for something reasonably priced but if it works then I'd be prepared to pay out for it! I can comiserate with your issues as I have a touch or resacea and have always had red cheeks myself. I have found a few things that work brilliantly. In terms of foundation, I usually apply an oil free liquid foundation all over my face with a foundation brush, and then touch up the red areas with a more high coverage formula. I finish off with a translucent loose powder to set everything and keep it all in place. This prevents things from getting too cakey or thick, it won't look like you are wearing a mask.
Some brands that I can recommend,
Bobbi Brown- fantastic oil free foundation offers medium coverage. I use their blemish stick to cover the red areas. Stays in place beautifully and never looks cakey. Their powder is like heaven and works a charm.
Bare Escentuals- the key here is moderation. You are never going to get full coverage without looking overly made up, but if you don't mind a bit of a flushed look, this works well and lets the skin breathe which is nice.
MAC- great foundation here, and their concealer is good too. Lots of different formulations to choose from. I would stick to the liquids for foundation and the concealer pots for coverage. I don't love their cream foundation formulas for every day, they just move around too much and maximize the look of my pores.
Studio Gear- great foundation at a lower price. Available at Ulta and gives a very natural looking medium coverage. Leaves the skin looking dewey and fresh. Best bet on a budget.
Benefit- they make a yellow tinted coverup style stick. This stuff works GREAT. I was skeptical, but I keep it in my purse and my kit for when I need a quick touch up and can't do my full face. This stuff really covers and neutralizes the red without looking heavy or unnatural.
As for the dark circles, a little cover up can go a long way. Make sure you are using a formula that isn't too drying as this can bring out the appearance of fine lines, crows feet and wrinkles around the eye (not attractive). I also recommend getting a highlighter and using that under the eye. This reflects light and diminishes the appearance of dark circles without using a ton of makeup. Apply this under your foundation and it might to the trick without using any coverup at all. Try Benefit, they make a nice one. Experimentation is key. To hide dark circles, use a pink or salmon-colored concealor. Pink cancels out the bluish color of dark circles. Look for concealors made for ';cool'; undertones (L'Oreal makes some in their True Match line if you want a drugstore product), or some brands make very pink correcting concealors. If the concealor is really pink, you'll probably want to layer a more skintone-colored concealor or foundation on top to help blend it into your skin. Aromaleigh's Cream Concealor in Pink (www.aromaleigh.com -- click Traditional Cosmetics) is excellent, and it doesn't smear off or settle into my fine lines like other concealors! Their Coquille Correcting Powder in Rose also works well but is probably best for fair skin.
However, if you have really purple-ish circles, you may find that a light lemony-yellow concealor works best. (Yellow cancels out purple, but yellow and blue make green!)
Yellow and green both cancel out redness. Try to find a foundation with yellow undertones (most foundations now a days have yellow [warm] undertones unless they're specifically labeled ';cool'; or ';neutral';). If that's not enough, you can also use a corrective powder in green or yellow underneath your foundation. Again, I like Aromaleigh's Coquille Correcting Powders in Juane or Vert (click ';Face'; on the sidebar) but I'm sure other brands make similar products.
As far as specific brands, different brands work better for different people. Everyone has different skintones, so you're probably not going to find an exact match in every brand. However I do really like Aromaleigh if you can't tell -- it's mineral makeup so it's healthier for your skin than traditional products, and their foundations come in a wide variety of colors (it's the only brand that makes a foundation pale enough for me!) Many girls with rosacea and other redness love their Y and YL foundation colors. I found that Alabaster mixed with 1W is my perfect match -- it cancels out my red cheeks/nose/chin while perfectly matching the color of my jawline/forehead/neck so there's no visible makeup line! If you do try Aromaleigh, make sure you order samples first because they don't accept returns! And if you're on a budget, they put different products on sale each week so just time your purchases around sales!
you need a concealer well two actually one that is green for the cheecks and one that is yellow for the eyes. neutrogena makes then and so does physcians formula
yes...i have the same problem my cheeks are rosie but its not rosacea. i use to things and they work GREAT i have used them both for the past 5 years. maybeline green corrector concealer stick.....it comes in a tube like lipstick but it is green and then physician's formula green powder.
you can get both of these at wal-mart. i apply the green corrector first then my foundation then the green powder and then my bronzer or regular powder. i am telling you this works Wonderfully. hope this helps!

To hide dark cicrles I use Arbonne liquid foundation, and it actually works!!!
well what you can get is covergirl foundation and then to go over that you can get a liquid any kind really
I can comiserate with your issues as I have a touch or resacea and have always had red cheeks myself. I have found a few things that work brilliantly. In terms of foundation, I usually apply an oil free liquid foundation all over my face with a foundation brush, and then touch up the red areas with a more high coverage formula. I finish off with a translucent loose powder to set everything and keep it all in place. This prevents things from getting too cakey or thick, it won't look like you are wearing a mask.
Some brands that I can recommend,
Bobbi Brown- fantastic oil free foundation offers medium coverage. I use their blemish stick to cover the red areas. Stays in place beautifully and never looks cakey. Their powder is like heaven and works a charm.
Bare Escentuals- the key here is moderation. You are never going to get full coverage without looking overly made up, but if you don't mind a bit of a flushed look, this works well and lets the skin breathe which is nice.
MAC- great foundation here, and their concealer is good too. Lots of different formulations to choose from. I would stick to the liquids for foundation and the concealer pots for coverage. I don't love their cream foundation formulas for every day, they just move around too much and maximize the look of my pores.
Studio Gear- great foundation at a lower price. Available at Ulta and gives a very natural looking medium coverage. Leaves the skin looking dewey and fresh. Best bet on a budget.
Benefit- they make a yellow tinted coverup style stick. This stuff works GREAT. I was skeptical, but I keep it in my purse and my kit for when I need a quick touch up and can't do my full face. This stuff really covers and neutralizes the red without looking heavy or unnatural.
As for the dark circles, a little cover up can go a long way. Make sure you are using a formula that isn't too drying as this can bring out the appearance of fine lines, crows feet and wrinkles around the eye (not attractive). I also recommend getting a highlighter and using that under the eye. This reflects light and diminishes the appearance of dark circles without using a ton of makeup. Apply this under your foundation and it might to the trick without using any coverup at all. Try Benefit, they make a nice one. Experimentation is key.
