Since you use Clinique, get the 7-Day Scrub, or any kind of exfoliator. I personally like the 7-Day Scrub because it leaves extra moisture on the skin.
You wash your face and dry it. Then apply the scrub in light circular motions. Rinse off, then follow with the remaining steps.
Exfoliating will remove the dead skin cells on the skin's surface. You are not going to get any moisturizer in where the patches are because there is an excess of dry, dead skin cells. Exfoliating will help to get rid of them and open your pores so that moisture can get in.
I would also try Clinique Super Defense SPF moisturizer (love this) as well as Moisture Surge. Super Defense will work with dry skin, and Moisture Surge will work with dry flakes. Also, look into Total Turnaround Concentrate, which is a time released exfoliator. This brings fresh cells to the surface, makes skin brighter and more even toned. I have been using this for a while, and my skin looks great.
In the morning, I am using philosophy's micro-delivery exfoliating facial wash. This is fine to use every day, preferably in the morning before makeup. As a daily exfoliant it will keep the surface skin free of dead skin - pores appear smaller, skin is smoother, and makeup applies better.
Drink more water, too. It is very important for skin hydration as well.
I hope this helps and good luck!
Happy Birthday! When i apply my foundation it goes into patch's but use Clinique products?
since u are using clinique you can try the clinique moisture surge... also u can try using smashbox light primer to have your foundation stay on... then after your foundation out on stila loose powder so it will keep your skin from drying out..
